LEND A HAND

Four times each month, our mobile diaper pantry visits 3 locations in Lake County to distribute free diapers to parents struggling to afford them for their children. One-time registration is required and may be completed online using the form below. Forms are also available at each distribution site, but registration in advance is recommended due to the number of families we serve. Identification for the parent and child(ren) is required.   

** Please check here in the event of inclement weather to be sure that the mobile diaper pantry is running as scheduled. We reserve the right to cancel any mobile pantry date to ensure the safety of our volunteers and clients.

REQUIREMENTS & IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Parent's photo ID (needed at every visit - driver's license, state ID, military ID, passport, VISA)

  • Child's birth certificate (needed at first visit and for any re-verification periods throughout the year)

  • Completed registration form (one-time form)

  • Please note that due to the number of families we serve, we do not provide diapers to expectant mothers for unborn children. Once you deliver and have your child's birth certificate/medical card, you are welcome to register them for diapers.

  • ONCE YOU REGISTER, YOU WILL NOT BE CONTACTED BY US. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO SHOW UP AT THE SCHEDULED DISTRIBUTION DAYS WITH THE REQUIRED ID FOR YOURSELF AND YOUR CHILD(REN).

  • This program is for individuals and/or families that are NOT receiving diapers from any of our 30+ agency partners or other sources. Diaper distributions are tracked very closely for every client registered for the program. If we discover that you are receiving diapers from our mobile pantry plus one of our partner agencies or any other community source, we reserve the right to stop providing any and all service to you.  

  • Due to the number of families we serve and high demand for size 5 and size 6 diapers, we reserve the right to limit the quantity provided of those sizes at any time.       

  • Parents can come twice a month to get diapers, but not twice in the same week.  

  • Diapers are only distributed on the dates/times and at the locations listed above.

Other Ways to Get Assistance

Twice As Nice Mother & Child offers a number of options to receive help from us.

Community Partners

Twice As Nice Mother & Child distributes items through established agencies that work directly with families in need. Those partnerships ensure that diapers get into the hands of those who need them, our program compliments other services (home visits, case management, health screenings, self-sufficiency programs, job training) and providing families with basic needs will help to connect them with other assistance programs in the community.

 

Agency partners request items on behalf of the clients they serve and we fill the requests. Case workers and/or agency representatives pick up their orders at our Waukegan office and then handle the distribution to the families. 

We are very intentional with how we grow and who we partner with to distribute our items. Our partners include home visiting programs, shelters, food pantries, townships, healthcare clinics and community based organizations. An agency must have a partnership agreement with us in order to request assistance for their clients. Our partnership agreement is collaborative and requires each agency to support the mission, and programs, of Twice As Nice Mother & Child, throughout each calendar year.

Direct to Client Service

Families who are not receiving assistance from any other agency may apply for direct service by completing the intake form below. Identification is required for the parent and child(ren). 

This program is for gently used children's clothing/shoes (newborn to size 12), maternity wear and baby gear. If you are pregnant, we can assist you with maternity wear. Per our policy, we do not provide items for unborn children. If you are in need of diapers, please register for our mobile diaper pantry program. Our goal is to meet a family's immediate needs and connect them with additional resources in the community, including our agency partners. Items can be requested every 2 months. Clients are expected to work towards self-sufficiency.

Once we receive the completed paperwork, the client will be contacted within 3 business days to schedule an appointment at our office.
